The story goes that Lobster clasps are named because of their 'pinch' mechanism and that they look somewhat similar to a lobster's claw. A lobster clasp may also known as a lobster hook, lobster claw or a trigger clasp. It is held closed by a spring. The lobster clasp is opened by holding a small lever and closed by releasing the lever.
