Gold filled wire is made up of a core material (usually sterling silver) with a layer of solid gold applied over the core. Gold filled wire will last significantly longer (10-30 years) than gold plated wire because the outer layer of gold is much thicker. This wire offers the same appearance as high karat gold at a fraction of the price.
