Artistic wire is used for wire wrapping and is made in several different materials. The most common material is copper wire that is plated or enamelled to achieve the desired colour, most of these wires have a tarnish resistant coating as well. There is also raw copper wire that can be patinated with liver of sulphur or left bare. All of these wires are considered dead soft, making them easy to work with. Artistic wire also offers non-tarnish brass wire and stainless steel wire, these are hardened and require more force to shape and form.
